According to a report by the Dutch company TNO, the use of Sat nav has considerably reduced road accidents in 2007.
The report shows:
• In unfamiliar territory drivers stopped 25% less and there were 50% less instances of badly chosen behaviors like ignoring road signs and traffic directions.
• 78% of those polled felt less stress and more in control when using sat-nav.
• With less wrong turns, sat nav reduced the distance travelled saving money for the consumer as well as helping the environment.
• The survey found that those driving without sat nav were 12% more likely to make an insurance damage claim for their car hire.
